A blessing in disguise

As some of you already know (especially if you have been reading our blog for a while) I went back to school this January for a Masters Degree in French Politics and Culture. I was going to graduate this semester, but the department told me a week before the beginning of school that they would not be able to pay for my tuition like they intended to. At first, I was quite angry: when I first started the program we were planning on paying for my schooling, but the department offered to pay for my full tuition so we decided to put that money aside for our move to England; and since it was right before the beginning of the semester, it was too late to make alternative plans. So much for graduating in December!

A couple days later, as I was pondering on the turn of events, I realized that I was rather grateful to be able to stay home with Eve again, and that it would enable me to support Levi during his last semester at BYU. Now that school has started I cannot even imagine the stress we would have to live with for four months! I am still able to teach French 101 and 102 on campus, but that means that I am away from home for only 2 hours a day! The first week is almost over and yet I already see how it has influenced Eve for the better. I stay home with her all day until 3pm and come home at 5pm to make dinner before Levi leaves for work at 6pm. Not too bad, huh? I still wish to pursue my education and to earn a PhD, but I'm a happy to be a mom for now.

Wow, you really took that big change of events in stride, I'm very impressed! Enjoy getting to stay home and have good, quality time with Eve. :0)
