One of my new resolutions is to do at least one fun/creative activity with Eve everyday before going to work. Eve has such a fun personality to start with that everything new sparks her interest.
Today, we opted to decorate some Easter eggs. So before she woke up, I hard boiled a few eggs to make sure they would be ready (I actually planned on doing that project yesterday, but never got the time to prepare the eggs).
After breakfast, I told her about our activity and she was so excited to get started that I did not have the heart to delay the process by getting her dressed and ready for the day. So I took care of dying the eggs and handed them to her to draw on or to glue stickers on them.
After that, she got a kick out of collecting them in her blue basket. I guess she didn't have enough to eat for breakfast since she started peeling one of the eggs and found more interest in eating it.
It didn't take long for her to smash open the rest of them, and I regret to say that none of them survived the rough treatment my toddler gave them as she was swinging her basket back and forth and transferring them into different containers. But at least, she had a great time, right?
Afterwards, I relunctantly proceeded to do the dishes (my least favorite chore), when I thought that Eve might actually enjoy helping me. Although it made the chore twice as long to get it over with, we both had a blast, as you can tell by the following clip:
In retrospect, this was one of the most memorable days I spent with Eve and I plan on sticking to my resolution, especially before baby #2 arrives. I realize that I need to make the most of the (little) time we both have together.
