For once, I planned ahead of time, and had plenty of surprises for my dear husband. Last night, I was conveniently going to study on my thesis so I picked up some ice-cream on my way home so we could do some pre-celebrations, just the two of us, while watching "Only Fools and Horses", a British TV show that happens to be running on Youtube.
This morning, I brought Levi breakfast in bed and one of his presents: 2 books on how to prepare for Med School and what to expect for the next 8 years!
His co-workers had made a note of his B-day too, they had 15 balloons staking his desk and they took him out to Gloria's Little Italy, a nice Italian restaurant in downtown Provo...AND bought a huge Costco chocolate cake.
Meanwhile, I baked his favorite cookies (pecan crescent cookies) after begging my sister for the recipe. And when he got home, he forwent the alfredo chicken & pasta to dig into those.
Finally Eve and I gave him his last present: I had contacted Levi's parents to ask them to send me some of his early childhood pictures, which I put in a nice memory book...and was he surprised! He had never seen these pictures before and he enjoyed seeing his mother (who passed away when he was only 7) on some of them. Shouldn't we also celebrate the mother who brought him into this world?
Finally, I would like to propose a toast to my amazing husband, who brought happiness into my life 5 years ago and made me see the world in colors...Here's to a loving father who drops everything to play with his 3 and a half old daughter and who gently wraps his arms around his 9 month old to cover her with kisses...the world's a better place because of him.

Joyeux anniversaire, Levi! What a special day you had! I especially think Anabelle's surprise photo album was heartfelt and amazing.
Happy Birthday!!! Glad it was a good one!
Happy, happy, birthday! The best husbands are born on March 10th, huh Anabelle? :) And yes, next week would be just fine! Tuesday or Thursday evening works; so does Friday.
Well, my dear friend happy birthday. I have seen that face you pulled in your picture in a more recent photo- great faces never change.
