A typical day in the lives of the Selways

There are some days I feel like I am the worst mom in the World, but then there are those days when I feel like the GREATEST mom in the World and those are worth their weight in gold.

Our day usually starts with Eve waking up around 7 am and pulling us out of bed, asking for cereal. At 7 months pregnant, I literally roll out of bed and serve breakfast. Then, while we're reading the Scriptures, we put on a cartoon in French (Eve's favorite is Little Einstein's Huge Adventure) to keep Eve entertained. She usually interrupts us to go potty or to ask for a drink. We try to get ourselves washed and dressed while her movie is still playing.

Our greatest battle is yet to be fought: Getting Eve ready. It starts with getting her dressed: I have first to decide whether it's worth putting her in underwear or in pull-ups...it all depends on our schedule (how long our errands will take, etc.) For example, today we took the bus 3 times! Obviously, I did not want to take the risk of Eve wetting the bus seat on the way. Then, I have to chase her around to brush her teeth and get her hair combed (unfortunately she doesn't leave the hairbands and clips long, which makes me want to pull my own hair out). 45 min later, we're ready to go.

After we get our errands done, we take Eve to the duck pond where she likes to run after the ducks until they're all forced back into the pond. Lately, however, our favorite walk takes us to our new home where we will officially move on April 1st. We are so excited about having a backyard...the previous tenants (our friends, the Sandersons) left a sandbox full of toys that she even giggles when we mention our going there. There's also a basketball hoop and I got Levi a basketball for his birthday so he could shoot some hoops.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, we have been spending most of our time there: while Eve plays in the sandbox, we do some yard work, raking leaves and sweeping the patio. I look forward to planting a little garden so much that I went to the library to check out a few books on gardening.

Of course, I have to go to work right after lunch until dinnertime, but when I get home, I am even more excited to keep working on our home and garden. It makes such a difference to have some creative project to work on and to clear our thoughts.

We also painted the kids' room: it used to be yellow with cute patterns; however, I thought that painting it with a lighter color (very light pink shade) would make the room look bigger. Here's the before picture...we'll post the after picture once we're done painting!

I dare say that since I went back to work, I enjoy every moment I have with my family and I look forward to being a mom at home again...the sooner, the better.

Is Eve truly the cutest girl ever? Yes, I think so!

One more thing, I didn't realize where you were moving to, I thought you were moving into some apartments. That is great you will have a house. Every year we plant a garden, and it so much fun to watch it grow.
