Good Friday - time to celebrate Easter

Do you know what images come up when you search "Easter" in google images?

You guessed it: colorful rabbits and eggs. Well, for me Easter starts today, with Good Friday: today we celebrate the Sacrament and the Atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ. We celebrate the sacrifice of the only one who could atone for our sins by giving his life and submitting himself completely to the will of our Father in Heaven.
Such love! For all of us! When I think of Christ, it makes me want to love everyone around me and try harder to be more like Him.

Now my question is: how come it is so easy for us, for me really, to forget the significance of His sacrifice and of His amazing love? Maybe we tend to downplay the true meaning of Easter because it is so hard to comprehend: deep down inside it is hard for me to understand that there was such a man who was perfect, in spite of temptation, who was strong enough to overcome His humanity to realize His divine purpose. I tend to forget that I too have such a divine purpose, not as grand of course since it does not entail the salvation of humankind; however I know that my Heavenly Father sent me here on this earth to fulfill a role and responsibilities which make me unique.

I hope that my tiny brain, whose functions are already compromised by my fluctuating hormones, will keep that in mind this Easter season. Happy Easter everyone!
