Yesterday I was sitting at church and suddenly I realized that there had been no mention of the upcoming celebration of Easter, and next week being General Conference (meaning we would not have our regular church meetings), it was sad to me that we seemed to have forgotten one of the most important Christian holidays. After our meetings were over, instead of saying "have a good week" to the people I was passing by in the hallway, I started greeting them with a "Happy Easter" instead.
To me, Easter is as significant, if not more, as Christmas, because it celebrates the resurrection of Christ and gives us hope in eternal life. I am indebted to my Savior for his sacrifice and sufferings in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross on Calvary: it is the greatest expression of love ever given to mankind, and I testify that through Christ we have access to forgiveness and to happiness. I testify that He lives
HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!
P.S. Easter falls on Sunday, April 4th, 2010!

Thanks for the post, I know what you mean. I hope that they talk a lot about Easter in Conference this year. This past Sunday was our "Easter Program," but other than singing Easter songs and a couple of choir numbers, there wasn't much Easter-y about it. I guess it's just hard to go all out for Easter when it's not the day of, but I agree that Easter in many ways is more important than Christmas, so I'm sad we didn't get to have Easter-based talks. Anyway, thanks for your post, and a very Happy Easter to you and your family! :0)
